Four Heritage High School seniors have been named Daniels Fund Scholarship finalists. The students are Mary Le, Grecia Portillo, Katie Potts and Logan Nelson. Thousands of students from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming apply each year. Out of those, about 375 are named finalists and 175 from Colorado are named Scholars. The Daniels Fund Scholars are announced in March.
The Daniels Scholarship Program distinguishes itself from other scholarship programs by selecting young leaders of exceptional character with the motivation to succeed and the desire to give back to their community. The program provides its scholars with resources, encouragement, and inspiration far beyond the financial assistance to help them earn a college degree. Scholars are connected to a wide range of mentors and opportunities. The scholarships may be applied to any nonprofit, accredited college or university in the United States.
